What we own
The words, photographs, and design on this site belong to Thrive Culture Media or to the people credited on them. You may link to anything we publish, quote a reasonable extract with attribution and a link, and share it in the ordinary way. You may not republish whole articles, sell our work, or feed it into a product as if it were yours.
Some images are used under open licences and carry their creator and licence terms in the caption. Those terms belong to the photographer, not to us, and they travel with the image wherever it goes.
What we do not own
Album artwork, film stills, and similar promotional material remain the property of their rights holders. We reproduce them to write about the work, which is what criticism has always done. If you hold rights in something here and object to its use, tell us and we will take it down while we talk about it.
Opinions are opinions
A great deal of what we publish is argument rather than reporting. We label it as such by writing it plainly. Reviews, rankings, and takes are the view of the person whose byline is on them, and they are not a statement of fact about anyone.
Accuracy, and the limits of it
We try to get things right and we correct ourselves in public when we do not; see our corrections policy. But the site is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available, complete, or free of error, and we are not liable for what you do on the strength of something you read here.
Links out
We link to other people’s sites constantly, because that is how writing about culture works. We do not control them and we are not answerable for what they contain.
Changes
These terms change from time to time, and the date at the top moves when they do. Every revision is a commit in the site’s repository.
